Role: Senior Cognos Controller Professional

The Senior Cognos Controller Professional role is responsible for optimizing the use of Cognos Controller and delivering accurate and timely consolidation of group financial results. This role works closely with Group Finance function and is responsible for translating business processes and systems requirements into functional/technical specifications and ensuring ownership and governance across finance systems and processes including development, training and support of users.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The role provides L2 and L3 support and IS services to F&PA community using the Cognos TM1 Applications.
  • Responsible for owning the Cognos Controller application and ensuring smooth periodical (monthly/quarterly/ yearly) financial consolidation and reporting process.
  • Manage projects and enhancements to Cognos Controller application, understand the requirements, carry out feasibility study, prepare design documents, effort estimate, resource allocation, monitor the progress and deliver the same as per the agreed milestone.
  • Project or enhancement changes to applications usually related to technical analysis, development, testing, UAT and deployment to production, structural changes to existing data mart or interfaces, report level changes, data level changes, Infrastructural changes, application upgrades, etc. based on business requirement are to be undertaken.
  • Functional / Process SME in Cognos Controller system.
  • Specialist working closely with business team to define functional definition of various business reporting requirements and in developing, testing and timely delivery of key business reports
  • Works closely with customers on their day to day requirements.
  • Works closely with other peer managers for the overall deliverable of IS.
  • Interacts with 3rd party application vendors in case of licensing, additional features and in case of application malfunctions and changing the application configuration, applying the patches or infrastructure level changes, etc.
  • Manages all the internal processes and establish new processes.
  • Work with other IS team families for changes to Finastra Platform application systems.
  • Specialists accustomed to work with production sensitive environments where one single fault or failure can cause business loss and downtime affecting multiple business deliverables.
  • Builds test scripts and provides training for UAT & assistance during UAT.
  • Works closely with other system owners to optimize the setup and integration and ensures the data flow is smooth.
  • Ensures best practices are applied to manual or outside the system mapping processes.
  • Rotational on-call availability for critical systems support.
